Monroe Braves Lacrosse Club Frequently Asked Questions
Spring 2025 Registration will open in early October!
Please help us spread the word about registration! Tell your friends, neighbors and classmates that registration is open. Please follow us on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/MonroeBravesLacrosse, share our posts, and stay up to date with the Monroe Braves Youth Lacrosse Club program.
Why do we register now for a “spring” sport?
The league we play in, the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League, requires us to submit the number of teams we will have in each age group by the first week of February. League Play begins in mid-March. We have to hold our registration this early so we can get a handle on how many teams we will have at each division, hold indoor clinics to get the kids warmed up for the season, and give us enough time to order uniforms.
Is it too late to learn how to play lacrosse?
You can learn to play lacrosse at any age. We welcome beginners at all of our age levels.
Costs
Registration is $175 per player for Grades 3 - 8 and $125 for Grades K - 2 plus $60 for a uniform. If your uniform still fits from 2024 season, you will not need to buy another uniform this year. These fees include a $25 fundraising fee that can be returned back to the family. We do have sibling discounts. We have taken great lengths to reduce the cost of playing lacrosse. Included in your registration fee is the mandatory USA Lacrosse Membership ($35), club and referee fees, and the end of year party with player gift.
Is there an additional fee if I do NOT live in Monroe Township?
Monroe Township has implemented a mandatory out-of-town fee for the 2025 calendar year. Parents and guardians will be given the opportunity to fundraise prior to the start of the 2025 season to help pay this out-of-town fee. We will be collecting this fee separately once registration closes via Venmo, Check, or Money Order. Please contact Monroe Lacrosse at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Per Monroe Township ordnance O:49-2023: "Non-Resident Fees – All Non-Residents, regardless of percentages, are required to pay a flat fee of $50.00 directly to the Monroe Township Parks & Recreation Department per season, per sport. To properly document the non-resident fees and be in compliance with law, youth sports organizations recognized in the Parks and Recreation Handbook are required to collect an additional $50 fee from each non-resident. Upon closing of registration, the organization shall forward those monies along with documentation of rosters, showing each non-resident that registered and proof of payment of the $50 fee. The Director of Parks and Rec will review this fee amount on a yearly basis and recommend any increases to the council if warranted. O:49-2023"
